Psychotherapy and counselling aims to help a person with mental or emotional issues to talk with another person who is trained and experienced to listen. This other person may be a psychologist, psychotherapist or counsellor. With successful psychotherapy, a client experiences positive change helping them to regain some form of calm and understanding in their lives. This treatment aims to resolve or reduce certain unwanted behaviours, beliefs, compulsions, thoughts, or emotions. These may include issues such as partnerships/family issues, bereavement, addictions (food, alcohol, smoking) obsessive behaviours, anxiety and depression, life changes, pet bereavement, panic attacks and other worrisome thoughts and behaviours.
About Transpersonal Psychology
Transpersonal Psychology techniques include meditation, mindfulness, self awareness, understanding dreams, visualisation and learning to understand how to manage your health for better energy levels and clearer thinking.
BodyMind therapy is designed to give the person as much information about their bodymind health so that they understand more about the way they feel and what they can do about it.
It is information which the patient/client can then take with them and decides what they would like to do.
It is a practical way of working with the person to give them a personal treatment plan and a whole approach to treating their health.
A hypno-pscyhotherapist differs from a hypnotherapist in that they will have undertaken training in psychotherapy theory and practice. This integrative approach utilises both techniques to help with deeper problems that may not be able to be addressed with hypnotherapy alone (for example trauma or abuse), allowing the therapist to use their training and skills in psychotherapy to provide a supportive and empathic therapeutic relationship.
